2013 Piston Powered Autorama Show
This years IX Piston Powered Autorama gave the hot rodding community a real shot in the arm that was needed. From the moment I drove in on Thursday for set-up, I could feel the positive energy that had been missing for quite a few years! I know there will always be a small amount of detractors, but this show was leaps and bounds ahead of the past three or four years. Come on... how can you go wrong with over 1 million square feet of piston powered machines! Many new cars from all over plus a number of the Great Eight from Detroit were in attendance. The aisles were wide and gone was most of the elbow to elbow crowding around all the cars. For the most part it was easy going in spite of the record crowds. Congrats to the folks responsible for this great show including Steve Legersky and his team at the IX Center and (of course) John Shapiro and his team at the Cruisin' Times Magazine!!! And, especially to all the folks who brought their rods and other piston powered machines to show off to the people who only get to see them occasionally in the summer time! Most are looking forward to next year... I know I am. Yeah, Kipper was there...
